Re: Will they tell us that they have received our file?

Thanks for your support! I have just received today (14th February) the acknowledgement receipt. Yesterday I sent them an email asking about this, and today I receive it. I don't know whether my email helped or not, I guess it was only a coincidence... Good luck for the short-listing!! I'm really g...

Re: 2014 Placements

As I understand the placement list has been offline for some time already, maybe there was some problem on the companies side, as they didn't want their placements to be so public etc. We have to wait until the shortlisting process has ended and the final list is given. I think that since the "...

Re: Will they tell us that they have received our file?

Did everybody receive the "acknowledgment of receipt" ?? Cause I did not... My university told me they received a confirmation from Brussels but I didn´t receive anything in my e-mail. Is there someone under the same conditions than me? Not in the same situation... How long ago did your u...

Re: Sexism

The reason why many companies in VinJ choose not to accept female trainees is because they have male only dorms. Since the company doesn’t know how special you are, they are not going to go in to the trouble of finding and paying accommodation elsewhere. Zannen. If it happened for an error last yea...

I don't know if you gave me the moderator superpowers on purpose, but I've just used to split this posts from the welcome thread since they're not about welcoming people and are enough to deserve their own place.

Re: Welcome!

Are we at 43 placements now?
Do you think the number will grow even more? O.o
Last year did they fill up all placements, or there is the risk that some company just won't take anyone despite EU-Japan sending them even a second round of applications?

Re: Will they tell us that they have received our file?

I sent them through my university, last day to hand them the documents was the 9th, and they told me they would send all applications in a single package the 10th... So I suppose I could get come confirmation soon, like the one Arty got.

Re: Forum improvement

I agree that information should be as accessible as possible to outsiders, but I can also see how some people could not want to let the whole world know were they'll be eating dinner next saturday. I was thinking about creating a sub-forum for that sort of things, not to lock the whole forum! Still,...

Will they tell us that they have received our file?

Hi!
My University should have sent all applications the 10th of this month.
Is there any hope that I'll get some confirmation that it has arrived to EU-Japan before the 20th?
If not, when? Is there something I can do to check everything is ok?

I had wrote a beautiful and incredibly long post about this, but now I'm deleting it all to just give you some souces. The 105th position that was quoted comes from this "Global Gender Gap": http://japandailypress.com/japan-ranked-105th-in-global-gender-gap-report-2538544/ But I don't thin...

Re: Advice (about writing the letter and related)

Re: Advice (about writing the letter and related)

I'm confused right now, I asked to Margherita: I have a question regarding the field B-C (Schools) of the application form. Last year I filled it with the average final score for all of my high-school studies. But as is specified, it say "give final grades", should I write the final grade...

I don't like the present division in years that are closed with thingss that get moved from year to year. I think it would be better to just have a section for advices and questions from people who want to try to get into Vulcanus (not binding it to any year in particular) and then either: 1) A &quo...

I don't know if it's true that last year a company explicitly said that they were accepting male cundidates only, BUT, if it's true, I think the following about it: Maybe it's a bit strange, but even being a female, I'm not against a company clearly stating that they'll accept only male candidates: ...

Re: Advice (about writing the letter and related)

A question from a friend of mine (could be too late, but still...) He is in his third year of a Bachelor's Degree, this means that he could be at the first year of a master in 2013/2014. Still, since the time one takes to complete a bachelor's degree is quite variable (at least here in Italy), neit...

Re: Advice (about writing the letter and related)

Ok, this may seem as an odd question... In the Applicarion Form it's asked "Faculty - Department" in A10 and the "Faculty/Department" in B-A4. Is this the same question? My father thinks in the first case I should answer stating first my faculty and then the department, and that ...

Re: Gender in the CV

I don't have an ambiguous name for my country (and shouldn't be ambiguous in any place in Europe, I think). I also was sure that having declared it in the main form was enough, but "Gender" is explicitly listed between the things you have to put on your CV in the "more info on Compuls...

Gender in the CV

Ok, I'm not here to make some feminist complaint... But... I have some resistence on putting something like "Gender: Female" on my Vulcanus CV. I understand there are good reasons for it, but it's just plain ugly to reserve a full line of the CV for something like that. I see that on their...

Concerning country code... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_co ... -4:_Europe Replace the 0 with the correct +NN You don't understand... It doesn't even let you put "+" symbol. That area is some kind of "pure number, not starting with 0". Also, even if this worked, it wouldn...
