Hey guys! Is Pietro here, I have been shortlisted as well
does anybody heard anything both from vulcanus and/or their company? I still got zero email so far but I know that a friend of mine has been contacted from a company and she made several interviews

Hi Pietro! Don't worry, most of us haven't been contacted either - only few companies have been interviewing, here on the forum only one person wrote about interviews! I think we have to wait until the first days of April (maybe even later).
By the way, I suggest you edit your post and remove the name of the companies, since from what I know we are not allowed to disclose anything about the companies that are in the official list of placements (other than the placement number)!

Re: VinJ 20/21 applicants
Hi Pietro, as far as I know placement n°6 (as Giulia told you, I recommend you to edit your post so that you don't mention the company name) is one of the companies that interview applicants every year. This is what I discovered by browsing the forum a bit. Nevertheless, I applied for that placement too and haven't got any email, but don't trust too much my feedback, since I also had some trouble with the documents (I've been trying contacting my university for over a month without any luck) and maybe they haven't even sent my application to them. By the way, feel free to answer/pm me if you want to chat about that placement a little more c:

Re: VinJ 20/21 applicants
Well, since most of us didn't get contacted yet, I think it says in the acknowledgement document that we should know if we are selected ideally by the end of April. So don't worry, we have a few more weeks. The situation is probably a bit slower due to the global pandemic.

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted! I guess I’ll be waiting on email from Vulcanus, good luck to the rest of us who haven’t heard from them still

Re: VinJ 20/21 applicants
Hello, my name is Michele, from Naples, Italy, I'm new on this forum and this is my first time here. I have found this forum because I have been selected too, and I was looking for other selected partecipants.
This was my first time trying this project, I didn't think to be selected. If anyone want to know, I applied for the position n. 24. The 13th of March the company asked me for an interview, and yesterday I received the email from the vulcanus project.
Good luck for everyone is still waiting an answer.
See you at Bruxelles!

I can't find it right now, but the general idea is that the rejections will be sent all together in the end of April. Until then, there are maybe 2 or 3 acceptance rounds. In the most optimistic scenario, they may ask for a second motivation letter.. but I don't see that happening

We can create a Whatsapp/Telegram group if you want!
So that we can update each other on the gathering of documents process and get to know each other a little bit!

I think that Telegram is better in general. We also don't have to share our mobile phone numbers but we can create an invite link to the group.
Re: VinJ 20/21 applicants
I have created a Telegram group and I have sent an email to anyone leave a comment stating that have been selected. Who in future will be selected, can send me an email or a PM and I will send the link to the group.

Thank you, I'll join it after lunch!
By the way, I highly suggest all selected people that are in this forum to change their user group to "Selected users" (User control panel > Usergroups) in order to be able to access the forum's private area and discuss there (not to spam too much on this thread)!

Nothing yet.. It is probably over for the rest of us.
Have they provided you with the current matchmaking list?
Or how many people have been accepted in total in the first tound?
Re: VinJ 20/21 applicants
Last year the final rejection email was sent on April 15, maybe it will be similar this year. I also think it's very likely it's over for us, I'm making alternative plans.

No we do not have a list yet. only some visa procedures with a deadline today so I thought they would contact this time around. For the accepted (of the forum), what you can see in the short-list thread.

Hi everyone. I just received an e-mail telling us that the matchmaking process is over and there will not be a second round. It seems placement n°6 wasn't assigned in the end. Did you have any luck with your placement?

Same with mine...
From what I can see they only assigned 18 placements total.
The company that I applied to had 20 placements and only accepted 1

Re: VinJ 20/21 applicants
This program is completely a lottery.
I have applied 3 times, 2 out of which I have been shortlisted. This year (my last chance ever) I applied for company no. 7, Advanet, which has accepted students for the last 2 years at least.
On the 9th of March I got contacted from the company in order to schedule an interview, and I had my interview on the 13th of March. I thought I did well on the interview so I was quite optimistic.
When the center started mailing accepted candidates I was surprised that I didn't get an e-mail so I contacted the company directly in order to ask for feedback. They informed me that they did accept me, but when they sent their answer to the EUJP center it was already too late and all the places have already been assigned!!! That probably means that many of you have been accepted by your companies as well but you are ... well, unlucky.
If the assignment works on a first come, first served order it is totally ridiculous since this is completely out of the control of the applicants. At the same time, in the e-mail we received today we can see that only 18 placements were filled by about 30 students. That means that some companies got 2 or more students while others got 0 even though they had accepted some. In general, there is no transparency at all regarding how exactly this infamous "match-making process" is done.
To conclude, as an advice to future applicants, don't take this program too seriously and certainly don't have high expectations.
